Oncology Surgeon Wrocław - specialist help

At the Melita Medical Center you can use the help of an oncology surgeon - a specialist in the surgical removal of benign and malignant tumors.

Changes on the skin usually require examination in a dermatoscope, i.e. a device that enables observing the skin at a very high magnification (like under a microscope), as well as save and analyze the image using a computer. We use a device from the American company Firefly for this purpose.

When treating skin lesions, we offer surgical excision, removal with a CO2 laser or electrosurgery, as well as further treatment, if it turns out to be necessary after the result of histopathological examination is obtained.

In the case of a suspicion of a tumor in the soft tissues or the abdominal cavity, it is possible to perform a thorough ultrasound examination on site, which is performed by Dr. Magdalena Bujak - a radiology specialist.

When should you visit an oncologist?

You should consider visiting an oncologist surgeon when you observe:

  • Any changes on the skin, i.e. warts, nodules, ulcers, pigmented moles - especially when they change shape, size, color, cause itching, have a rim
  • Nodules palpable or visible under the skin, distorting the outline of the limb, painless, and associated by the patient with an injury
  • Breast tumors palpable or visible only in ultrasound or mammography, breast skin deformities, ulcers, changes in the nipple tip, blood discharge from the nipple ducts, asymmetry of the breast glands, thickening of the breast skin in the "orange peel" type, change in the shape of the breast, enlargement of the axillary lymph nodes, supraclavicular, abnormal mammography or breast ultrasound without clinical symptoms
  • Enlarged lymph nodes
  •  Tumors originating from the thyroid gland that are palpable or only visible on ultrasound

It is worth remembering that neoplastic lesions usually do not cause pain, which makes some patients postpone their visit to the doctor - preventive examinations are the basis for prophylaxis.

Oncology in the time of coronavirus

Oncology in the time of coronavirus

Visits to the oncologist surgeon at the Melita Medical Center have been continued since the beginning of the SARS-COV-2 pandemic.

Due to the safety of patients and staff, visits are carried out in a strict sanitary regime. Before the visit, we conduct an epidemiological interview with patients, ask them report any disturbing symptoms before arriving at the Melita Medical Center and wear a mask in the facility.

We perform all surgical procedures in the same scope.

How to prepare for the first visit?

Before you visit a oncologist for the first time, it is a good idea to complete the full medical documentation on the problem that requires consultation and results of the current laboratory testing, if held by the patient.

If you have ever had screening tests (X-rays, ultrasound, endoscopic examinations) performed, it is worth taking their results with you so that our specialist can refer to them.

Since the Melita Medical Center is a private facility, you can arrange a visit without having a referral to a oncology surgeon.
